Introduction

This report is based on detailed research along with local surveys to provide recommendations to a small business to enhance marketing.  Our team of W231 Professional Writing Skills student consultants have conducted over 100 hours of research.  We have explored various ways to develop comprehensive and practical strategies to promote business and public visibility.

After meeting with you and discussing work done on marketing, along with expectations on the project. Our team has produced three total analyses that we would like you to consider implementing in order to promote Grounded Plant and Flora Co. to the community. The Recommendation Report comprises three individual recommendations.

 

Based on data collected and analyzed we would like to offer the following recommendations

  • Modifications to an existing website

  • Maximizing social media platforms

  • Pursuing a Green Certification

In order to thoroughly explain our recommendations, the contents of the report will be broken down into the following categories.

Methodology

To Conduct Research We Had To Have A Plan

After meeting with Grounded Plant and Flora Co. we discussed future plans and goals for the company. These plans include moving into a larger space, introducing a Café element, even the possibility of alcohol sales down the road.   We held these aspirations in our minds as we moved forward. 

 

Our research team sought to determine the best possible Marketing techniques for Grounded Plant and Floral Co.  Together as a team we began our search looking into advertising for a small business. We then further refined our search criteria tailored for a floral business.

 We started by analyzing the company's digital footprint.

  • Detailed look at their website.  Checking links, content, contact information, visual images, along with usability.  

  • We moved on to search engine results, the team used Google to search for the company to find any listings.

  • We examined the businesses presence on various social media platforms.

The research team began to examine different approaches to the issue of brand recognition in a competitive market.  Our team utilized a myriad of tools to search for pieces of our puzzle.

The Local survey

We collected significant amounts of data pertaining to small business marketing.  In order to tailor our data to a Floral shop, we utilized a survey.   Our team created a list of 11 questions to ascertain how customers felt about different aspects of local marketing.  We created the survey using Google Forms and was disseminated through Grounded Plants and Flora Co. social media.   The survey generated over 500 responses; this data allowed us to create some conclusions.

After brainstorming various ideas, we turned to our research to verify our conclusions.  Our recommendations were supported by the results of our surveys. After combining all of our collective data, we began to form a cohesive analysis.
